An event dedicated to a much-loved Irish comedy show is coming to Stockport next year for two consecutive nights.
Father Ted fans in Stockport can attend a celebration of the show in the new year. Running for two nights in a row, the event will honour the programme and also features a special screening of season two’s episode four.
Organisers of comedy events like this one sometimes call upon expert flyer printing services for engaging marketing materials that encourage the public to book tickets.
The Father Ted celebration is led by stand-up comedian and guitar player, Joe Rooney. The multi-talented artist will introduce the episode, entitled “The Old Grey Whistle Theft”, which he acted in alongside Dermot Morgan (Father Ted), Ardal O’Hanlon (Father Dougal), Pauline McLynn (Mrs Doyle) and Frank Kelly (Father Jack).
Rooney will play the character of Father Damo, whose rebellious nature led Dougal astray, and he will take audiences behind the scenes before conducting a “Craggy Island Quiz”. Other features of the show include “The Loveliest Girl Competition”, special guest priests and a singalong to the Fathers’ Eurovision Song Contest Entry “My Lovely Horse”, plus more.
The Celebration of Father Ted will now take place in the Green Room of The Plaza on Wednesday, January 21 and Thursday, January 22 at 7.30 pm. The venue is in Mersey Square in Stockport, and the show is only suitable for an adult audience.
