Stockport will be playing host to a special event this summer that has been created by two sisters to raise money for a charity addressing pulmonary fibrosis.
Jenny and Louise Doran are putting this event together as a fundraiser for the charity Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis. They have teamed up with the historian and author Alison Weir on the organisation of it and have secured the use of Stockport Guild Hall as a venue. It will be their third such event, having been motivated by the fact that their mother Anne was diagnosed with the disease 10 years ago.
Symptoms of pulmonary fibrosis include exhaustion, a dry cough and breathing difficulties. It is currently incurable, but charities like the one being supported with this event are trying to find a cure. Stockport flyer printing shops can be a big help in promoting local charity fundraisers to ensure good attendances.
This event will see Weir talk about her latest history book, called ‘Elizabeth of York: The Last White Rose’, and she will be signing Copies of it. There will also be a raffle plus a performance by the Tudor Legacies re-enactment group.
Louise Doran stated that they are trying to raise the profile of pulmonary fibrosis charities so that they get more donations from the public.
The fundraiser takes place on June 30.
