Stockport to enjoy spellbinding panto

A pantomime inspired by one of the most famous fairy tales in the world will be on stage in Stockport this winter.

Just in time to fire up the festive spirit, Stockport’s variety theatre and super cinema The Plaza is putting on a classic Christmas pantomime. Designed for all the family and promising plenty of music and laughter, “Sleeping Beauty” will be on stage in December and into the new year.

The magical pantomime has been designed to be affordable entertainment, so that all families will have the opportunity to make festive memories.

Theatres hosting productions like pantomimes and plays sometimes call upon specialist printing services to design and supply attractive programmes, which audience members can retain and bring home as a memento.

The pantomime has a star-studded cast led by Coronation Street’s Wendi Peters as the wicked fairy Carabosse and Scott Gallagher as Jangles the Jester. The festive adventure tells the timeless tale of a beautiful Princess who falls under a sleep spell that only “love’s true kiss” can break, and a heroic Prince who fights to find his true love.

Sleeping Beauty will be at The Plaza from Friday, December 6 to Sunday, January 5. The theatre venue is in Mersey Square in Stockport, and special BSL (British Sign Language) interpreted performances will take place on Saturday, December 7 and Thursday, December 12.
