A number of new homes are set to be built in Stockport alongside a brand new school, after the local council opted to give the go-ahead to these proposals at a meeting of its planning committee.
Stockport Council gave the green light to several development schemes, two of which involve creating new housing in the area, and the third of which will see a special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) school created. The first of the residential projects involves Plans to convert the Lambert House building that formerly housed the AA into a block of flats.
A total of 98 flats will be featured within the block, alongside a gymnasium and working space. The second housing scheme to win approval was submitted by Stockport Homes, and will see an empty warehouse at Higher Hillgate knocked down and replaced with a block containing 24 flats.
The council also approved Plans to build a SEND school that has been given the name Laurus Grace. It will be constructed on grounds that currently house the tennis and netball facilities for Hazel Grove High School. These will be moved to a new location.
Developers in Stockport can use local brochure printing outlets if they want to have materials that display what their proposed buildings would look like once completed.
Designs for the school are set to be produced by Pozzoni Architecture.Get a Free Quote for Plans
