Camden venue to host pop innovator
The British singer/songwriter Alison Goldfrapp is embarking on her 'Love Invention Live' tour and is due to play a gig in Camden at the beginning of March.
This vocalist and producer, widely recognised for her originality, sets a high bar for 21st-century synth-pop. Her albums with the band Goldfrapp, seven in total, were driven by a striving for modernity combined with a knack for achieving timeless sounds.
Goldfrapp formed in 1999, and their initial album garnered a Mercury Prize nomination. They went on to produce three US number-one dance tracks which in turn were Grammy-nominated, notably for Best Electronic/Dance Album.
The multi-platinum record-selling duo also won an array of other awards including two Ivor Novellos, MTV Europe, Music Week and Music Producers Guild awards. These were suitably rounded off with two BRIT Award nominations.
2022 witnessed Alison's first solo release, 'Impossible', a collaboration with Royksopp. Whilst 2023 saw yet more new music being unveiled including the single 'NeverStop'. Indeed she will be performing material from her debut album 'The Love Invention' which came out last May on the Skint Records label
