Snowy owls often head south during the winter months, and a tour that will be starting in Saskatoon will soon visit them in their southern range.
The Family Day holiday and winter break weekend tour options of the Northern Owl Adventure Series will see groups of birders head out from the gathering point in the city to rural areas, and they will be on the lookout for snowy owls as well as other species. It has been noted that many species of birds of prey can be commonly spotted and photographed during the daylight hours, and everyone is encouraged to bring along up to three of their friends who also enjoy the hobby.
The group will visit a variety of locations around Saskatoon, and along with snowy owls, northern hawk owls and great gray owls, the participants may spot smaller birds, such as redpolls, spruce grouse, snow buntings, chickadees and waxwings. Space in the tour must be reserved in advance.
With so many people choosing to take their vacations close to home, locally based activities have become increasingly popular. Print shops can offer lots of marketing ideas for this type of function.
The Northern Owl Adventure Series of day trips will be offered on various dates, including February 18th to February 21st. There are several tour options to choose from.
