Saskatoon workshop to create colourful concrete bowls

An event that will demonstrate that concrete can be used to make a lot more than just basement floors is set to welcome Saskatoon learners, and it will be a hands-on activity.

Saskatoon Makerspace has plans in the works for a concrete bowl workshop, and this activity will teach the fundamentals of working with this material. It will be a two-session workshop series, and the materials that will be used are included in the registration price.

During the first session, the registrants will learn the basics of moulding concrete, as well as how to pour it and how to choose which colour to use. The workshop will wrap up with the students pouring their own bowls, and they can opt to keep it as just one colour or add more if they wish.

On the second day, the bowls will be finished by removing them from the moulds and adding the final touches. They will then be sealed, and each learner will be able to walk away with a finished piece to display in their own home.

Organizing an activity like this often includes having waivers and other legal documents for the registrants to sign before they begin. A company that prepares legal Forms and Letterheads will be able to supply these sorts of items.

Saskatoon Makerspace will hold the first workshop in this two-part series on April 15th, and the second will be held on April 22nd. Each class will run from 7:30pm to 9:00pm.
