Saskatoon to make the most of its special winter

Winter can be especially brutal on the Prairies, but there are a large number of Saskatoon residents who like nothing better than getting outside and experiencing all of the activities they can take part in during the winter months. Such residents will be pleased to hear that the Potash Corp Wintershines Festival features plenty of winter activities, entertainment, and food.

Visitors can experience world-class ice carving and the resulting sculptures, visit an ice adventure park (for $2 for each activity), do some ice skating, listen to music, and take part in a cook-off. The Ice Jam will feature a ‘battle of the bands’ between various high-school groups. The Amateur and Celebrity Soup Cook-Off will let people show off their culinary skills. There will also be lots of barbecued food to enjoy during what sounds like a fun day out for the entire family.

However locals choose to celebrate winter, there will always be a choice in the city. No doubt Saskatoon printing companies are called upon to design and Print items such as Flyers to let those living in the area know about upcoming events. Flyers can be sent out by Direct Mail to the entire city or can be inserted in local newspaper. They have been proven to be one of the most effective advertising methods.

The 5th annual Potash Wintershines Festival takes place at the Saskatoon Farmers’ Market at River Landing from January 28 - February 10. Admission is free and it is open seven days a week. For more information, call 306-384-6044.
