Each year, the Whitecap Dakota First Nation hosts a gathering of its members, and this year will be no exception. The 2019 event will be held in the Saskatoon Inn and Conference Centre, and the selected theme for the symposium will be ‘Stronger Together’.
The two-day function will bring together Indigenous Elders, speakers, researchers, educators, and others from all over North America. The goal is to help keep the Dakota Language dynamic and vibrant so that can continue to be an important part of this First Nations culture.
The delegates in the conference will have an opportunity to choose from a variety of presentations, workshops and other activities. There will also be a trade show area, and a selection of cultural performances is also on the agenda. Those who are interested in participating can choose to register for one or both days, and special ticket pricing has been offered for both Elders and students.
