Last weekend, people filled Saskatoon’s 20th Street reveling at the unique works of art during the city’s celebration of Nuit Blanche.
While only in its second year, the festival grew dramatically in the number of artists and passersby since last year. This year’s event was held on September 26. Artists were set up by 7:00 pm and people started strolling through the exhibits shortly thereafter.
More than 30 unique works of art were featured at this year’s Nuit Blanche Edmonton, with performances ranging from musical and abstract, to sculptors and painters. Social media channels like Instagram were bursting with images of the spectacles that lined 20th Street.
Many of these artists would have worked through a professional Print company for poster printing or banner printing if their work required it. Others may have printed brief descriptions on handouts for visitors.
Nuit Blanche is an international festival celebrating the arts. It has its roots in Paris in 2002, but quickly gained popularity in cities around the world.
Edmonton allowed restaurants to remain open during the event, which ran between 7:00 pm and 4:00 am. Food trucks also staggered along 20th Street offering visitors warm foods along their escapades.
Festivals like Nuit Blanche provide the opportunity for local artists to showcase their talents and passions and connect with their community.
