Saskatoon seed savers celebrate Seedy Sunday

Seedy Saturday is an initiative that encourages everyone to experience the fun of seed saving, storing and sowing, and Saskatoon has scheduled its own instalment of the activity.

The planner of the gathering decided to move it from its usual Saturday to Sunday, and it will be filled with opportunities to learn, shop and meet other local greenthumbs. Station 20 West has been selected to serve as its venue, and it will run for five hours.

The public that stops by will have a chase to shop from various seed vendors, and an assortment of cultivars will be available. There will be information shared about urban agriculture, and everyone can enjoy the exhibits set up by local gardening associations and clubs. The kids can spend some time in the self-guided activity, and soup and bannock will be on the menu at the Boxcar Cafe. Those with questions can call 306-986-5831.
