Saskatoon residents invited to go wild in the city

An event is planned for Saskatoon that will celebrate urban wildlife and the enrichment that it brings to the lives of those who live in and around the city.

Wild About Saskatoon Nature City Festival will see a variety of classes, workshops, and other activities held over a five-day span that range from creating works of art with a wildlife theme to bird watching, planting trees, and other greenery to provide animal habitat, parties, guest speakers, guided hikes, and all sorts of fun for the whole family.

The keynote speaker for the event will be Maria Campbell, who is a local playwright, author, and Elder in the Metis community. She will be discussing the important role water plays in the lives of both people and the other creatures that share the urban landscape. Her presentation is scheduled for May 24 at 7:30 pm at Broadway Theatre.

The other activities that will be held during the five-day festival, which will run from May 24 until May 29, will take place at various locations throughout the city. A Print company will be able to provide maps and other materials that can help to highlight these sites and make it easier for those who will be taking part to find them.
