Built back in 1884, the Marr Residence is one of Saskatoon’s many historic sites. Plans are underway for it to host its very first summer dance fundraiser, and the public is invited to grab their dancing shoes and enjoy the fun.
The Marr Garden will be the venue for the inaugural Marr Residence Summer Dance. It will be a function for any age, and those who are 12 or younger will be given free entry to the celebration.
Before the main event kicks off, the guests will be treated to a bit of instruction in dance steps, and this will be provided by professional dancers. After this, the band will take to the stage and the crowd will be invited to kick up their heels for an evening of music, games, food and other fun.
To help raise as much funds as possible during the event, two handmade baby quilts will be raffled off. The festivities are scheduled to wrap up at 10:00 pm, and tickets are $15. A banner printing company will be able to supply an assortment of decor for this sort of function, and these can help to create an even more celebratory atmosphere for the occasion.
The Marr Residence is located at 326 11th Street East in Saskatoon. The dance lessons are set to begin at 7:00 pm.
