Saskatoon hosts comic convention next month

The Saskatoon Blitz: Comic and Greek Culture Convention is taking place for two days this June.

The convention is presented by the Saskatoon Love Love Anime Group (SLLAG). It will feature several celebrities, artists, and vendors. There will also be discussion panels, autograph sessions, an Artists Alley, vendors, meet and greet opportunities, a costume contest, film and TV show screenings, game tournaments, and a masquerade dance.

Guests already confirmed include Aaron Douglas of Battlestar Galactica, voice actress Cherami Leigh, novelist Wes Funk, and illustrator Atalie Nicole Gauss. Vendors will be selling all sorts of items including action figures, comic Books, costumes, photographs, and DVDs. There will be something to appeal to every comic or science fiction fan, it would seem.

Vendor tables are available for $150 and booths are $375. Artists Alley fees are $80.41 for a table and $130.81 for a booth.

Organizers of the convention will likely be using the services of their local Saskatoon Print company to help advertise this upcoming event. This might include creating and printing Flyers that can be distributed to local comic book stores or handed out on the street. Sign and banner printing services could also help draw more attention to individual tables and increase the vendors’ chances of sales on the day.

The Saskatoon Blitz will take place at the Saskatoon Inn on June 8 and 9. Two-day passes are $50, while a pass for a specific day is $32 on June 8 or $30 on June 9. For more information, visit the SLLAG website.
