Saskatoon events set to showcase the city this month

The residents of Saskatoon are set to re-discover their hometown this month with two events dedicated to highlighting the city’s hidden gems.

The first event, A Taste of Saskatchewan, will take place over six days next month. It will feature food from over 30 Saskatoon restaurants and musical performances from 55 local bands. Visitors buy tokens which will allow them to sample local food and liquor.

The Downtown Sidewalk Sale is taking place over three days, also in July. The streets will be closed off on 2nd Avenue between 20th and 23rd and 21st Street between 1st and 2nd. Vendors will not only be representing downtown stores but outside businesses as well. In addition to shopping, there will be live entertainment and food to purchase.

Many non-profit organizations will also be in attendance to inform the public about their programs and services. Vendors can rent space for $350 for local stores, $400 for outside businesses or $100 for non-profit organizations.

Saskatoon printing companies are likely to be providing organizers with Flyers and Banners to help publicize the events in the community.

A Taste of Saskatchewan will take place in Kiwanis Memorial Park from July 16-21. Food tokens are $2.50 each and liquor tokens are $5.50 each. For more information, contact Scott Ford at 306-975-3175.

The 37th annual Downtown Sidewalk Sale will take place from July 18-20; interested businesses can register to take part before June 21. Contact Debbie Murphy at 306-665-2001 for more information.
