Saskatoon celebration to boast Viking flair

A free upcoming event is set to appeal to everyone’s inner Viking, and this Saskatoon celebration will have fun on tap for all ages.

The Vatnheim Vikings and the Museum of Antiquities have teamed up to co-host the Adventures With Vikings event, which will offer a glimpse into what the life of these people may have been like. It will be running for four hours on an afternoon early October, and it will be offered in person.

The occasion will boast a Viking camp, and here, the visitors will be able to listen to stories, watch crafters at work and play some games. There will be volunteers on site dressed in period costume, and everyone can try their hand at the crafting tables. There will be special offerings just for the kids, and the activity is one of a schedule of functions the Museum of Antiquities has on its agenda for the upcoming months.

Organizing a historically themed event like this may be made a lot easier with assistance from a local printer. Its graphic design team can use modern techniques to craft an assortment of items with a historical flavour.

Adventures With Vikings will be offering a sneak peek into the lives of these seafaring people on October 1st. It can be found at 116 Peter MacKinnon Building at the University of Saskatchewan Bowl.
