The Trading Place conference, presented by the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations (FSIN) Economic Development Secretariat, is a forthcoming event aimed at helping to grow economic partnerships between First Nations people and the general business community. While this is mainly a business-to-business conference, anyone can attend.
The conference will include several workshops, discussion panels, a plenary session, and an Indian Market trade show. It is intended to create business opportunities for First Nations-owned companies and to increase the possibility of international economic development for all companies.
The three-day event is set to take place at Prairieland Park from September 24 – 26, with the Indian Market being held on the latter two days. Booth rental costs are $150 for artisans, $250 for First Nations small businesses, and $700 for general companies.
The Trading Place will no doubt be an excellent place to discover new businesses and products but it should also be a great networking opportunity for local business professionals. Every entrepreneur in attendance is likely to discover at least one individual or Saskatoon business that they will wish to work with in the future. With that in mind, those who plan to take part in the conference would be well-advised to arrange for a new business card printing order in advance, ensuring that they have plenty of cards to give out to everyone they meet.
Registration can be completed online at the FSIN website. For more information, such as ticket prices, call 306-665-1215.
