United way is a non-profit organization that extends out to the most vulnerable individuals and families in Saskatoon and across Canada.
The interim CEO of United Way in Saskatoon and the surrounding area, Myra Potter, said about the fundraiser:
“It’s pretty darn impressive when you think we start from zero every year, it’s not like the money rolls from year to year, so this is one of our top years absolutely.”
With the donations raised, the aim is to help the community by making sure the needs of families and individuals are taken care of. The funds are also used to help local youths improve in schools, ensuring better access to social and health resources in the community.
A program that the United Way is looking to improve now is Saskatchewan’s 211 phone line, which will give people access to services provided by the organization. It will work together with the website, which was started over a year ago.
Non-profit organizations like United Way often invest in the services of Print companies to get the word out, through flyer and poster printing, of fundraising events.
This is United Way’s fourth succeeding year that it has raised over $6 million through the donations of volunteers and contributors.Get a Free Quote for Print
