Annual exhibition will bring excitement this summer

The 129th annual Saskatoon Exhibition is taking place for six days this August.

This popular event features midway rides and games, a parade, a market square for shopping and several free concerts. Some of the musicians who are slated to appear at this year's festival are Marianas Trench, Hedley, and Burton Cummings and Band.

There will be a Saskatchewan Art Showcase competition for which the theme is gardens, and it is open to all visual artists including painters, photographers, and videographers.

Other activities taking place include a demolition derby, the Rise to Fame Talent Search, a hypnotist, and appearances by children's favorites Toopy and Binoo, and Barney. There will also be performances from MysteryAct acrobats, and local bands will perform at the Kickin' Horse Show. Of course, food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Saskatoon printing companies have probably been working with organizers to produce ride tickets and other necessary printed materials.

The Saskatoon Exhibition will be held at Prairieland Park from August 4 to 9. Admission is $15 in advance or $16 at the gate for adults, $12 for children between the ages of 11 and 15, and $9 for unaccompanied children aged 10 and under. Midway unlimited access passes are available for $15 in advance and $20 at the gate. To find out the latest information about this event, call 306-931-7149.
