The mayor and city council are asking the people of Vaughan to lend a helping hand to fellow community members in need, by donating to the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish Toy Drive.
The city’s mayor officially launched the initiative at St. Agnes of Assisi Elementary School. Teachers, parents, and even Santa Claus came out for the event, and there were holiday-themed displays, as well as music and signing performed by the students.
It is hoped that other Vaughan schools, businesses, and residents will do their part by donating new, unwrapped toys for a child up to age 18. They can be dropped off at one of the collection points located at fire stations, libraries, or community centers throughout the city, as well as the city’s operation center, before December 17th.
Volunteers are needed to help collect the toys and wrap them. Anyone interested can check out the station’s web site for more information
This marks the third year for the CHUM Christmas Wish Toy Dive throughout the GTA. Last year, it raised $30,000 in toys and monetary donations in Vaughan alone , bringing the total raised through the time that the program has been run across the GTA to $300,000
A Stationery printing company can be called upon to produce special gift tags for the wrapped toys, which can help to make them even more special.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
