City of Vaughan celebrates 25th anniversary
The city of Vaughan is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and hopes that the public will get in on the festivities and fun planned to mark the occasion.
To help kick
things off, a celebration was held on the atrium at the city Hall. Refreshments, such as coffee and cupcakes, were provided to those who visited. A special logo has been designed for the community’s 25th anniversary, and it can be seen on the flags, banners and other decorations hung up.
In a press release, Vaughan’s Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua remarked that this is an exciting time, and that everyone who lives here can play a role in helping it to continue to be a great place to call home.
Other activities have been scheduled throughout the rest of 2016. These include Winterfest, set to take place in the Vellore Village Community Centre on February 21st. There will also be the Vaughn Chamber of Commerce Annual Mayor’s Luncheon on February 24th, a special Canada Day celebration on July first, and much more.
Anyone who currently lives in the city, has visited or who used to call it home is invited to share their memories of what makes it a special place. They can do so on the city’s Facebook Page or by visiting the Vaughan website and posting their stories.
