The Battle of Stoney Creek reenactment is an annual gathering that attracts lots of visitors to the area, and this well-loved activity will open June with a bang.
This recreation of an important battle from the war of 1812 is open to all ages, and the plans for the day will offer an opportunity to step back in time. There will be lots of actors in period costume on site, and a call has gone out for both merchants and re-enactors.
Along with a variety of historic demonstrations, there will be old style games for the kids and adults to try. They can stroll through the encampment, and a shopping area will offer one of a kind items. First Nation’s programming, music and the entertainment are in the works, and food and refreshments may be purchased at the event. Fireworks will take to the sky after the Sunday battle, and all ages are welcome.
Historical events benefit from having period style decor prepared by a banner printing company. These can be designed so they have a historic look, and they can include custom fonts and graphic design elements.
This celebration of one of the turning points in the War of 1812 will be held on June 1st and 2nd at Battlefield House Museum & Park. Hamilton's website offered a link for interested merchants and volunteers.
