Stoney Creek celebrates family caregivers

A gathering in the Stoney Creek area will soon give unpaid caregivers some love and care.

The Caregiver Wellness Day will be a time for learning, connection and support, and it will be on offer at 555 Bay Street North in Hamilton. Organized especially for those who provide unpaid care to a family member or friend, it is intended to be both a fun and relaxing affair.

Those caring for someone with a chronic illness, disability or injury may all benefit from attending the activity, and it has been planned in honour of National Caregiver Day. Bethesda, the Ontario Caregivers Association and the VON have all lent a hand in organizing the event, and it will take place in person. There will be an assortment of activities, including an Anticipatory Grief Kintsugi Bowl Workshop, as well as keynote talks on tackling burnout and stress and practical wellness strategies. There will be chances to mingle, and a catered lunch will be offered. When they head for home, everyone will hopefully feel supported, refreshed and rejuvenated.

To add a touch of fun to the day, the organizers have included door prize draws for Corporate Gifts in its schedule.

The Caregiver Wellness Day will run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Tuesday, April 7th. Spaces can be reserved for free via Eventbrite.
