Stoney Creek children invited to appreciate the animals

The Humane Society of Hamilton will be holding sessions of its Junior Humane Program, and children from Stoney Creek are welcome to take part.

The initiative allows children and preteens to learn more about animals and how to care for them, and it also encourages them to develop their sense of empathy and compassion for other living things, and to practice their decision-making skills.

Those who take part will learn about animals in a variety of ways. These includes interacting with them, as well as watching videos, playing games, and making crafts. A booklet printing company can create materials to hand out to each child who takes part in an activity such as this, including certificates of completion for all the participants.

The program is offered to two age groups, with both being specifically adapted to the ages of the participants. For the kids ages 7 to 9, the focus of the six weeks will be cats, while for the ones ages 10 to 12, it will be dogs. The cost for each session is $80 per participant.

For the younger age group, the program will begin on October 12, taking place on Wednesday nights from 6:00 until 7:15 pm. For the older ones, it will be held on Thursday nights, starting on October 13.
