Stoney Creek Chamber of Commerce recruits fresh executive

Local businessman, Arnie Strub, is the newest member of the Stoney Creek Chamber of Commerce’s executive team, having been appointed to fill the gap left by his predecessor of 17 years’ service.

Strub says he is making it his mission to promote the chamber’s many benefits to small and family-run businesses in the area.

The chamber offers a lot of support for businesses, including planning and marketing, discounts on payment processing, employee group benefit packages, and other perks.

A local Print company is no doubt busy with business card printing and quite possibly Stationery printing for Strub’s new role because between now and September, Strub aims to meet as many of the chamber’s 400-plus members in person to learn about their ventures and how the chamber can better assist them.

September also sees the chamber’s breakfast seminars, After 5 networking events and business luncheons resume service, which offer advice for business owners and entrepreneurs.

Strub has diverse business experience to bring to the role. For 22 years, Strub worked for his family’s business, Strub’s Pickles. His last role with the company was executive vice president, prior to the business being sold to Whyte’s Food Corp. He has a McMaster’s DeGroote School of Business MBA and is currently a Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs appeals tribunal member, as well as the vice-chair of the board for the Ontario Education Collaborative Marketplace.
