Re-enactment of The Battle of Stoney Creek

The Battlefield House Museum and Park is presenting a re-enactment of the Battle of Stoney Creek in early June. This is a yearly event which brings together many battle re-enactors from across the province. The original battle took place on what are now the grounds of the museum. Poster printing companies in Stoney Creek, Ontario are helping to publicize this historic event.

The original Battle of Stoney Creek took place on June 6, 1813 and was a turning point in favour of the British in the War of 1812. The victory was possible with much help from native warriors and due to the fact that two American senior officers were taken prisoner.

The re-enactment of the Battle of Stoney Creek will feature a complete battle encampment as it would have looked in 1813. The general public will be invited to wander through the encampment and to witness cooking demonstrations, dancing demonstrations and blacksmithing demonstrations. They will also get to watch the battle itself. The Gage homestead will also be open to the public. Tickets will be $8 for adults, $2 for children over 5 and youth, and free for children under 5.

This is just one of the many historical events that take place at the Battle Field House Museum. Museum staff dress in period costume and show how life was lived in the early 19th century. And like this event, they rely on poster printing companies to help the spread the word to the general public.
