It may still be the depths of Ottawa winter, but residents will be looking to warm up with good food and drink at the upcoming Ottawa Winter Brewfest.
The 6th annual edition of the Brewfest will feature over 100 craft beers, spirits and ciders from across Ontario and Quebec. Already announced are local microbreweries like Anderson Craft Ales, Durham Brewers Guild, Prince Eddy’s Brewery and Royal Canadian Mead.
Food will also be provided from local restaurants like Pi’za-za and Le Rituel, and the event will include festival favourites like taffy. The goal is to create a warm and festive environment in which patrons can sample the best of local brewing.
Winter Brewfest is intended to tie into Ottawa’s city-wide Winterlude celebrations. There will be live DJs and dancing. Events like these can be invaluable for local microbreweries, allowing them to get their products out in front of a receptive audience. For the 2020 edition, the Ottawa Winter Brewfest will be moving to a larger venue, the Aberdeen Pavillion at Lansdowne Park, reflecting the success of past instalments.
