The Ottawa Music Industry Coalition will hold its Capital Music Awards event this October as it looks to showcase the region’s music industry.
Nominees were selected from submissions by members of the local music community. Group of the Year nominees include Jessica Pearson and the East Wind and Le Diable a Cinq, while Elizabeth Royall and Graham Lindsey are among the Solo Artist award contenders. There will also be awards for contributors to the National Capital’s music scene, including Live Music Curator, Live Music Venue, and Music Educator of the Year.
The Awards show will be a gala event that aims to highlight the diversity of the city’s local music. In addition to the awards presentations, there will be a number of live performances, including Shim in the Cut, John Kofi Dappah, and Celeste Levis. Jessica Pearson, Yao and Amanda Rheaume will come together to perform the official song of Ottawa’s 200th anniversary celebrations.
These awards will also be a part of Capital Music Week, with concerts and industry events from October 2 to 10. Featured performers include Bif Naked, Cadence Weapon, and Despised Icon. The festival will also provide opportunities for industry networking, with Business Cards changing hands along with musical notes.
The 2026 Capital Music Awards ceremony will take place at Southam Hall in the National Arts Centre on October 9.
