Summer in Ottawa is full of music festivals, but this year’s Nostalgia Music Festival is looking to stand out with a lineup full of tribute acts to classic rock and pop groups.
The five-day festival will kick off with a double bill of Supertramp tribute group Dreamer and Pink Floyd Niagara, and conclude on Sunday with a performance by the well-travelled Hotel California, performing the many hits of The Eagles. In between there will be tributes to artists such as AC/DC, ABBA, and U2. The festival will be hosted in an outdoor environment with food trucks and drink vendors on hand. The list of refreshment vendors includes Green Papaya, Fritz’s Classic Grill BBQ Smokehouse, and La Cabane a Chichis Churros.
The stage comes equipped with large video screens to make sure that everyone has a great view of the performance. This will be the fifth edition of the Nostalgia Music Festival, which is typically held annually during the summer. The festival site includes a bicycle parking area and a “cabaret style” VIP Zone with bar service and cushioned chairs. Musical festivals like this typically use methods like poster printing and radio advertising to help reach a wide audience of music lovers.
The 2024 Nostalgia Music Festival will take place from August 21 to 25 at the LeBreton Flats area in downtown Ottawa.
