The Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend will be returning this May, welcoming runners from far and wide to the nation’s capital.
The weekend includes a number of races of different distances, including the Tartan Ottawa International Marathon, the Ottawa Half Marathon, a kids’ marathon, and races at the 10-kilometre, five-kilometre and two-kilometre distances. Dedicated runners can take on the Bytown, Voyageur and Lumberjack Challenges, all of which involve tackling multiple races throughout the weekend.
All participants will receive Promotional Products or “swag”, including finisher medals, race bibs, post-race refreshments and more, with additional items for those who tackle the multi-race challenges. The annual event typically draws thousands of runners, including many competitive athletes.
The theme for the Race Weekend is “Together We Achieve”, and it is designed to bring runners together again and highlight Ottawa’s natural beauty after a challenging two years. Virtual run options are also available.
In addition, there will be a Charity Challenge encouraging participants to donate to a series of selected non-profit organizations, including The Ottawa Hospital Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society and Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health. The organizations that receive the most donations and donors will receive extra funds from race organizers.
The Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend is currently set to take place on May 28 and 29, with all races beginning at Ottawa City Hall.
