The Ottawa Valley Farm Show will be returning for another year this March, offering three days of agricultural exhibits and events from the National Capital Region and beyond.
The Show will feature over 360 exhibitors from all sectors of the Canadian agricultural industry, from local growers to major agricultural equipment companies. The Farm Show originated as a Seed Fair in 1927, and this legacy is sure to be reflected with plenty of seed-themed exhibits and demonstrations throughout the three-day event. This will include the Ottawa Valley Championship Seed, Feed and Forage Show, in which crops, produce, and life-skills exhibits from local growers and 4-H crops will be recognized in the central Court of Honour. Items in competition range from staple grains like barley to Canadian maple syrup.
There will also be local food from the Ottawa area and live entertainment on stage throughout the Farm Show. The show offers scholarships for local youth and agricultural students to take part and even host their own local seed shows. Agricultural shows like this have long been part of the Canadian local fabric, often using methods like flyer printing and educational events to help create interest. A full list of vendors and exhibitors will be released in the lead-up to the event.
The 2024 Ottawa Valley Farm Show will take place at the EY Centre from March 12 to 14.
