One of the National Capital Region’s most popular rural attractions will return this fall, offering both traditional autumnal fare and spooky Halloween events.
The Saunders Farm Fall Festival in Ottawa typically sees tens of thousands of visitors. This year’s event will only be operating at 5-10% capacity due to social distancing guidelines, but aims to offer the same range of attractions, with a few new additions.
The farm features the world’s largest collection of hedge mazes, as well as familiar fall activities like wagon rides and pumpkin picking. Visitors can also enjoy a night time bonfire with food and drinks at Campfire Nights on Friday and Saturday evening.
The Fall Festival also includes FrightFest, occurring on weekend nights and the full week leading up to Halloween. These events will feature a number of spooky attractions, including a new “haunted walk” outdoor trail. Daytime Haunting Season events are also on offer.
This year, Saunders Farm has also been involved in the creation of The Sawmill at Landsdowne Park in downtown Ottawa, telling the story of a ghostly camp of lumberjacks and millworkers. Halloween attractions like this are often advertised through horror-themed poster printing.
The Fall Festival and Fright Fest will run from September 26 to November 1 at Saunders Farm. The Sawmill will take place at Lansdowne Park starting on October 16. All events require tickets to be purchased in advance.
