The Canadian capital’s best and brightest will be honoured for the tenth year running at a semi-formal awards gala held by local Faces Magazine.
The Ottawa Awards, presented later this month, are voted on by the public in a variety of categories. The 2019 awards saw over one million votes cast, about equal to the number of people in Ottawa, and 2020 is looking to be just as big.
The award categories range from subjects like politics and government to food and dining to photography, with each containing multiple subcategories. For instance, the sports section includes a general ‘athlete of the year’ award with subdivisions for members of the city’s senators and redblacks teams, golf courses, swim instructors, and even mascots. This means that the over 1,200 nominees include everyone from Ottawa mayor Jim Watson to local blogger Amy in 613.
The awards will be handed out at a gala event. As there is often a large number of business leaders and higher-ups involved, these events often see a good deal of networking, with unusual friendships being formed and Business Cards and promotional pens being exchanged. Complementary drinks will be included, and VIP booths are made available for high rollers.
Faces Magazine will present the 2020 Ottawa Awards on the evening of January 24 at the Brookstreet Hotel. The award winners will also be listed online and in the next issue of Faces.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards Get a Free Quote for Pens
