WestFest is taking place in Ottawa next month over three days.
The festival is basically a free street party. Over 150 Ottawa artist will be on hand to showcase and sell their works of art. Local businesses will also be exhibiting their latest products and selling to the public.
There will be all types of entertainment taking place that should appeal to people of all tastes. Music will be provided by such groups as the Ottawa Junior Jazz Band, Missing Lynx and The Lionyls. The Kids’ Zone will have a splash pad, art workshops, face painting, bouncy houses and plenty of other fun things.
One special part of the festival will be the Indigenous Pavilion. It is set to feature a tipi, traditional food, arts and crafts, general merchandise and special programming.
Fam Jam is a family-friendly activity that will have a sing song party time, a magician, WestFest Tam Tam with Dr. Lee and a performance by Prairie Fire, which is a Metis dance troupe.
Other activities will include spoken word poetry and an onsite mural painting by Kalkidan Assefa.
