Young people in Ottawa who are interested in caring for children may wish to sign up for an upcoming course that will teach them skills they can put to use when babysitting.
The instruction will cover a variety of areas, and is designed to not only provide information, but also confidence in its participants. The attendees will learn how to prevent accidents and keep the children they are caring for entertained, basic first aid, how to be safe while on the job, and how to make their business a success. Flyers and other promotional items can be used to effectively promote this type of enterprise.
Each participant will receive a reference book that will provide them with a more in depth coverage of the topics covered in the course. It also includes sheets where the babysitter can record information at the start of each job. All those who receive a grade of at least 75% on the final exam will also receive a wallet card and wall certificate that indicates they were successful.
The Babysitter Training workshop, which is geared towards those aged 12 and over, will be held on November 18 in the OSC Classroom, located at 301 Moodie Drive.
