Residents of Richmond and visitors to the city who want to learn more about how it has grown to become the community it is today will soon have a chance to do just that.
A guided tour that will visit four historic sites has been created by Tourism Richmond, and tickets are available for the August walk.
The experience will offer a taste of what the Steveneson neighbourhood was like back in 1914, and even includes participation by costumed characters. Along the way, the group will be invited to sample locally produced craft beers and freshly made seafood chowder.
The ticket holders for the tour are asked to meet at the Visitors Centre of Britannia Shipyards NHS, and the group will set out at 2:00 pm sharp. As alcohol will be served, it is only open to those who are at least 19 years of age, and it will last for about three hours. Stops will be made at The Gulf of Georgia National Historic Site, Stevenson Museum, and the Stevenson Tram.
Those who register for the event are reminded that it will be held rain or shine and they should wear shoes that are comfortable for walking. Printed guides that offer more information can be a great choice for a souvenir for this sort of activity, and these can be prepared by Stationery printers.
Tickets for this opportunity to tour Richmond’s historic side will be offered on August 17. The tickets are being sold for $65 each.
