New gallery is a sight to see

Poster printer services in Richmond, B.C., may want to note how the owners of a Vancouver-based graphic design business run their art gallery. Bon and Lee Roberts just opened their new art gallery this past October, and already, it is attracting attention for its uniqueness.

The couple originally had the idea to make their art gallery into a combination of an artist’s living space and a work studio. However, they changed their plans when they discovered that their original idea was impractical. Instead, they decided to commit the majority of the space at their rural dwelling-house in Roberts Creek to the art gallery, while living only in the guest house that is on the property, too.

The Roberts devoted a lot of care and consideration to environmental ideology in the finished design of their art gallery. Their gallery features a passive solar heating system, a microclimate at its center that has been devoted to a space where plants can thrive, and building material that was primarily comprised of salvaged items.

Their art gallery presently features the theme "Glow." It includes the works of local artists who used footlong by footlong canvasses to make a contemporary creation that was founded on the theme of glowing.

The Roberts’ work with children in the past is evidenced in the number of children that visit their art gallery. Perhaps the cupcakes and apple juice they provide are also another contributing factor to the popularity of this little art gallery.

Companies offering poster printing in Richmond, B.C., who may be commissioned to reproduce many of the artworks on display, might get ideas of environmentally friendly design in their own work spaces by looking to the Roberts’ example.
