Just as the physical body can experience illness, the mind can too, and a Richmond area training opportunity will give the public a set of tools they can use to both support those experiencing mental health problems and build an understanding about these sorts of issues.
The Canadian Mental Health Association is offering a mental health first aid course, and it will be geared towards those who work with adults in a professional or private setting. The planners explained that the facilitators will be highly trained, and the setting for the class will be comfortable and safe for all who take part.
During the workshop, the group will be introduced to the four mental health disorders that are most commonly seen, including anxiety and mood related disorders. The goal is to create members of the public who can support those who are in crisis until professional help can be accessed, and it will give them the knowledge needed to discuss these topics with others in their home, workplace or other setting.
Offering a program like this often plays a significant role in building a community that is compassionate and resilient. Print shops can prepare training manuals and other learning materials as well as custom designed certificates to give to each participant at the end of a session.
The Mental Health First Aid (Basic) will be on offer for Richmond learners on October 17th and 18th. The CMHA Vancouver Fraser Vancouver office will be hosting the event.Get a Free Quote for Print
