Line-Up announced for Labatt Blues Festival in Edmonton August 2011

Blues fans in Edmonton will be ecstatic over the line up for this year’s Blues Fest. The festival takes place August 19 to 21 and will be held in Hawreluk Park in the Heritage Amphitheatre.

The festival will have performances by Guitar Shorty, Kim Wilson, R.J. Mischo and Diunna Greenleaf, to name a few of the outstanding guest performers.

Co-producers Carole Deen and Cam Hayden are well established organisers, having been involved in a dozen festivals.

Hayden commented:

“We’ve always tried to put together interesting players. In touring other festivals and venues, we have a good idea of who works well together and what we can do to make it more than just the average band. We like to work with the artists to find out what they enjoy doing.”

Kim Wilson will be performing, but not with The Fabulous Thunderbirds, which are his usual band. The Texas singer and harmonica player will perform with guitarist Bill Flynn, together with piano man Barrelhouse Chuck.

Canadian David Gogo and Reba Russell from Memphis, together with their bands, will be performing sets to open Friday afternoon’s festival.

This is just a small taste of some of the entertainment that will be featured at the Blues Fest.

Tickets can be bought at the Chateau Louis Hotel, Permanent Records and Ticketmaster.

Printing services are available in Edmonton to supply promotional materials for events like this, large or small, including poster printing and banner printing. Advertisements that are well designed and placed in strategic places are crucial to make the public aware of festivities like these.
