The Kinette Club of Edmonton is holding a Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser at On the Rocks on February 24 beginning at 7 pm. Tickets are $20 which includes the bar cover, wings and a free drink.
The mission of the Kinette Club is “to better our communities by promoting service, fellowship, family values and national pride.” They help to raise funds for many worthy causes. This fun event, entitled Get Your Game On, will feature a 50/50 draw, raffles, games, a silent auction and live music.
Why not use this event as a way to foster teamwork and motivation in your employees? Getting a group together to help raise money for this worthy cause will go a long way in helping morale in any Edmonton company. Local printing companies can help you raise awareness by providing your company with a flyer or a poster that can be displayed in any public area of the business encouraging employees to come out; or can be inserted in everyone’s pay slip. A social event such as this which also raises money for an important cause could be just what your employees need to feel like a real team.
Cystic Fibrosis Canada has existed since 1960; their celebrity patron is Celine Dion. The organization helps to fund CF research, support high quality care, raise public awareness and advocate for those suffering from this genetic disease. It is estimated that one in every 3,600 Canadians is born with Cystic Fibrosis and that 3,800 are currently living with the effects of the disease. This cause is often overlooked in favour of more high-profile ones.
