Edmonton workshop to teach basics of pet first aid

The Edmonton Humane Society will be working with Walks n’ Wags to offer a pet first aid workshop, potentially saving an animal’s life.

The techniques taught can be used in a variety of common emergencies, and will be ones most people will be able to do on their own until their pet can be seen by a vet or other animal healthcare professional.

The students will learn how to approach an unwell animal in a way that is safe for both themselves and the cat or dog that needs help. They will also learn how to identify Signs that their pet may need first aid. The control of bleeding choking and preventing poisonings will all be discussed, along with CPR adapted for animals.

Making sure that each learner in this sort of session goes home with a simple pet first aid manual can aid in ensuring they are able to keep their furry friend safe. A printing services company can design and Print these, as well as promotional Pens and many other items to distribute on the day.

This first aid class for the furry, four-legged set will be held at the Edmonton Humane Society. It has been set for the June 20 and 21 weekend, but this may need to be rescheduled to a later date.
