Edmonton unveils new guide to sustainable living
Edmonton residents who are looking to live a life that is a little bit greener now have another resource that can help them on their way.
The city’s authorities recently announced the release of a new guide on how to live a more energy-efficient and sustainable life. It has been published as part of the city’s campaign to become a carbon neutral community.
Designed and distributed by the Edmonton Department of Urban Planning and the Environment, it contains tips that any homeowner can put to use in their current or future residence. It includes information about proper ventilation, choosing the right energy efficient appliances, using solar power or alternative sources of energy, and reducing water consumption.
The guide was unveiled at the recent Buy, Build, Reno or Retro show, which was held at MacEwan University’s Robbins Health Learning Center. This free event included presentations by guest speakers and a trade show where vendors and other interested parties showcased their products and services; many of which have been designed to make the home a healthier place to be, while also increasing its overall value.
Anyone interested in obtaining their own copy of the guide can do so by logging on the council’s website. There they will find links to the publication as well as some simple things they can do to help make Edmonton a model of sustainable living.
A print company can really help in a campaign such as this. It can create materials that get the word out to the public in a way that makes a real difference.
