Edmonton golfers support local MFRC

Military families have been described as being “the invisible strength behind the uniform”, and a local charity that provides these individuals with support will benefit from an upcoming fundraiser.

Each year, Canadian Forces Base Edmonton is proud to host the Base Commander’s Golf Tournament, and it is on the way for early September. Players of all skill levels are welcome, and the charity of choice will be the Edmonton Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC).

The players in the tourney will follow a four-person, Texas Scramble format, and registration will open early in the day. Food is included in the registration fee, and military members and their families, as well as veterans and members of Edmonton Garrison Memorial Golf Club, may all sign up to play. Civilians are also encouraged to take part, and donations will be appreciated. The friendly competition will wrap up with dinner and an awards presentation.

Golf fundraisers are often very effective, and along with raising money for a cause, they may also help the public to learn more about it. Special award certificates can be prepared by Stationery printers to present to the top players, as well as any certificates to show appreciation to sponsors and other supporters.

The 2025 Base Commander’s Golf Tournament will tee off on September 5th at the Edmonton Garrison Memorial Golf Course. Check in opens at 8:00 am.
