Edmonton offers deep dive into family literacy

It is said that literacy gives people keys to knowledge, and an upcoming Edmonton event will explore ways educators, organizations and volunteers can encourage families to discover the joy of reading.

The Family Literacy Conference scheduled for Edmonton will offer three days of learning and skill building, and there will also be networking in its agenda. It will run for three days, and includes an optional pre-conference for anyone who would like an even deeper drive into the subject matter at hand.

The Wyndham Edmonton Hotel and Conference Centre will be the venue for the symposium, and a wide variety of subject matter experts will be offering presentations and other educational opportunities. The location is accessible to those who require a mobility device, and topics ranging from fostering inclusivity in the public school classroom and developing the foundation of literacy in babies to teaching adults to read will be covered. Free parking will be available.

Symposiums, conferences and other events intended to offer skill-building opportunities often provide additional learning material to the delegates. These can be prepared by Stationery printers and be packaged in reusable Totes to distribute.

The 2025 Family Literacy Conference, which is being organized by the Centre for Family Literacy, will run from October 7th to October 9th. More details can be found on its Eventbrite listing.
