A recent Edmonton job fair proved to be such a success that by its second hour, applicants were being turned away because of the overwhelming response.
Spirit Staffing and Consulting had been tasked with hiring employees to head to Fort McMurray and begin the process of removing debris and rebuilding the burned out homes. The plan was to hire 500 people during the fair, which took place at the Argyle Centre. Once people began to hear about it, they wanted to help, and a line up of applicants began to form well before the doors even opened. A business card printing service can design and Print resumes, covering letters, Business Cards and other materials that can used by potential employees during events such as this.
The event started at 1:00 in the afternoon, and by 2:30, over 1,000 applicants had been through the doors to drop off resumes and meet with the recruiters. This high number of job seekers led those who were staffing the function no option but to turn hopefuls away.
One of those who had come out spoke with The Edmonton Journal. Sophie Vruno remarked that, even though there were so many others who wanted to be chosen, she hoped that she would be one of the people lucky enough to be picked to go and help the community rebuild.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards Get a Free Quote for Print
