Edmonton festival showcases quilting talent

Handmade quilts are a work of art that combine form and function, and an Edmonton festival will showcase the talents of area sewists.

The city will be welcoming the annual quilt festival, which will be held at the Saville Community Sport Centre. It has a schedule that runs for two days, and it will welcome everyone from expert quilters to community members who simply enjoy viewing these creations.

During the festival, area sewists will be able to participate in the various workshops and learning experiences that will be on offer, and a vendor area boasting unique fabrics, notions and other materials is on the agenda. There will be demonstrations as well as a wide variety of quilts on display, including the works of Featured Quilter Kathy Logan de Chavez. All ages are encouraged to drop by, and free parking will be available at the venue.

Festivals give those interested in a particular hobby an opportunity to enjoy a deep dive experience and connect with those of similar interests. A poster printing company can craft materials that help to generate public interest in an activity.

The Edmonton and District Quilters' Guild will be running its “Honour the Past, Embrace the Future” quilt show on June 6th and 7th. A listing of the workshops and other information can be found on its Eventbrite listing along with an opportunity to secure a seat in the learning sessions.
