Can Man Dan set for 2014 return

Edmonton’s Dan Johnstone, better known as ‘Can Man Dan’, is due to set up shop once again to collect food and money for the Edmonton Food Bank.

According to a recent report in the Edmonton Sun, he plans to park his truck in the lot at Southgate Center Safeway, as part of the first stage of his efforts to collect food and monetary donations for the less fortunate.

Afterwards, Johnstone will take to the road and head for Calgary, where he will collect food for the city’s food banks. The last leg of his journey will bring him back to Edmonton, where he will park for three more days in a final push to collect as much as he possibly can.

Can Man Dan told local media that he does not mind facing the cold, as he is glad to do it if it means he is helping a child to enjoy a nutritious meal.

He hopes that by the end of his 2014 efforts, he will have raised a total of $20,000 and gathered around 10,000 kg of food.

A fundraising effort like this can make a huge difference in the community, and a banner printing company can help. A large banner can help to raise awareness and let people know where they can drop off their contributions to the cause.
