Peer conference will help educate caregivers
Spinal Cord Injury Alberta is presenting its Peer Conference and Trade Show in Edmonton next month. The theme of this year’s conference is “Experience, educate, evolve.”
There will be a variety of panel presentations during the course of the day. The keynote speaker for the event will be Vahen King, Miss Wheelchair Canada, who will talk about her personal experiences. Some of the topics of discussion during the day will be community integration for people with disabilities, emotional wellbeing, active living for patients, and the problems and challenges of aging with a disability.
In addition, there will be a number of vendors on hand to showcase their products and services. Vendors will include those selling mobility and accessibility products, those that provide services to people with disabilities, and medical providers. No doubt there will also be vendors selling food and drink.
It is likely that many of the vendors from the Edmonton area will contact their local print shops to provide them with promotional products such as pens to hand out to people who visit their booths.
The Peer Conference and Trade Show will be held at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Centre on May 12 from 11:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Admission is $20. Call 780-424-6312 for more information about the conference, or about Spinal Cord Injury Alberta.
