The 27th annual Works Art and Design Festival will take place at Sir Winston Churchill Square from June 21 to July 3. This is a free event.
The theme of this year's festival is Energy and it will feature contemporary and traditional visual art. There will be art exhibitions, lectures, and art-related activities for people of all ages. One notable inclusion will be the Stay Tuned Print exhibit from Ken Webb and Richard Gorenko.
Last year's festival featured over 200 art exhibits, an art market, a chalk art contest, a furniture contest, and a Western Canada Fashion Week exhibit. It is more than likely that several of these, especially the art market, will be taking place in 2012 as well.
The festival is a good opportunity for local artist to showcase their latest works and to make the community aware of them. They would be wise to arrange for business card printing services from Edmonton printing companies. A business card is an excellent advertisement for a visual artist. The card allows a sample of the artist's work to be displayed either at the left of the front of the card or, as is becoming more and more popular, on the back of the card.
Of course, they also want to be able to sell some of their art. Many people who attend this festival will be looking to invest in some modern artwork and they will very much appreciate the fact that the artist is local, meaning that making purchases from them will be supporting creative work in the area.Get a Free Quote for Print
