Edmontonians invited to outdoor art extravaganza

Edmonton artists will give the public a sneak peek into their creative process in an four kilometer long event designed to bring people and art together an a public space.

More than 450 local artisans will line Whyte Avenue for the 2016 Whyte Avenue Art Walk. There will be a huge assortment of works to browse through, with the creators on hand to answer questions and show how they go about crafting their pieces.

The first of these events, which were intended to be reminiscent of Paris’s Left Bank, had only 35 participants. Since then, it has grown to include more than 400 artists and attracts 40,000 visitors a year. Signs can be printed for functions such as this to help catch the public’s eye and let them know where and when it is taking place.

Several blocks of the avenue’s sidewalks will be dedicated to this outdoor exhibition, which will take place from July 8th until July 10th, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. People are highly encouraged to take this opportunity to get to know the city’s artistic community and perhaps even purchase some items they particularly like. Given the length of this outdoor gallery, they are also encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes.
